Box Score NORMAL, Ill. - Illinois State used 21 kills from Ashley
Rosch to beat Wichita State 3-1. The
Redbirds won by scores of 25-17, 17-25, 25-22 and 25-16.
Ashlyn Driskill led the Shockers with 12 kills, while
Chelsey Feekin had her third triple-double of the season with 10 kills, 36
assists and 13 digs. Jackie Church added
a team-high 24 digs.
Illinois State jumped out to an 11-6 lead in the first set,
but the Shockers used two kills from Ashlyn Driskill and one from Emily Adney
to pull within 11-10. That was as close
as the Shockers would get as ISU went on to win the set 25-17.
A kill by Ashley Andrade put the Shocks up 7-4 in the second
set and a service ace from Adney increased the lead to 19-13. The Shockers scored six of the final 10
points to win the set 25-17.
The Redbirds took an early 7-4 lead in the third set, but
the Shockers tied it at 11 on a service ace from Katie Reilly. The set went back-and-forth until ISU took an
18-16 lead with a block. The Shockers
could not get closer than one the rest of the way as ISU won 25-22.
ISU took control of the fourth set 14-8, but the Shockers
used a 3-0 run to pull within 16-13. The
Redbirds used a 6-0 run to put away the Shockers and win 25-16.
The Shockers are next in action on Fri., Nov. 9 against
Missouri State at 7 p.m. inside Charles Koch Arena.
