ST. LOUIS - For the second consecutive
week and third time this season, the Missouri Valley Conference named Wichita
State senior Aliphine Tuliamuk MVC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.
Tuliamuk won the 6K Pre-National race with
a time of 19:43.90. It is the fastest 6K posted by any MVC runner this year and
her performance broke the WSU school record by nearly 14 seconds. She has now
won all four races this season and will compete at the MVC Championship later
on this month.
Tuliamuk finished three seconds ahead
of the second-place competitor, Risper Kimaiyo from UTEP.
The Shockers next compete Saturday Oct. 27 at the MVC Championship Meet in Normal, Ill.
