St. Louis, Mo. - Wichita State defeated Illinois State, 4-0 in the finals of the 2011 State Farm MVC Tennis Tournament on Sunday afternoon to capture their third consecutive MVC tournament title.  The Shockers have won five of the last six MVC tournament titles (06, 07, 09, 10, and 11) and their 12^th MVC title in school history.

Wichita State cruised to the doubles point with wins in the No. 2 and No. 3 matches on Sunday.

"Raphaela and Lutfiana set the tone for the day with their dominating 8-0 win," head coach Colin Foster said.  "We were on a mission from the beginning and never gave opportunities to ISU to work their way into the match today."

Budiharto clinched the title with her 6-2, 6-3 win over Aniko Kiss in the No. 1 singles match and the Shockers will now travel to their third consecutive NCAA tournament with the automatic berth.

"I'm very proud of this team and excited that our season is continuing, " Foster said.
