- Wichita State blanked the Drake Bulldogs, 7-0 on
Saturday afternoon to improve to 13-9, 6-0 this season.
The Shockers cruised through the doubles matches and carried
their effort to the singles, which they won all but the No. 3 and No. 4 matches
in straight sets.
Freshmen Veronika Blaskova and Carla Venticinque each
dropped the second sets of their matches but both came back to win their
respective matches, 6-0, 6-7(7), 10-4 and 6-4, 1-6, 10-7.
"Even though we've won 7-0 these last three conference
matches we've been challenged at different sports on different days," head
coach Colin Foster said. "We have to
continue to expect a tough match every time out and I know UNI will be ready to
defend their home courts tomorrow."
Wichita
State will close out the
regular season tomorrow against UNI. The
final regular season match will start at 10 a.m.
