Box Score HONOLULU, Hawaii - Hawaii clinched the series with a 12-3
win over Wichita State in game four of a four-game series.
Chris O'Brien went 2-for-3 with two RBI, a double and a home
run.
Starter Charlie Lowell took the loss to fall to 4-4. He went 5.1 innings and gave up seven runs on
eight hits with seven strikeouts.
Kevin Hall walked with one out in the first and scored on a
double to right-center by Chris O'Brien to put the Shocks in front 1-0. Johnny Coy then doubled over the right
fielder's head to give WSU a 2-0 lead.
The Rainbows answered with two runs in the bottom of the
first. Pi'ikea Kitamura walked with one
out and moved to second on a wild pitch.
He scored on a single up the middle by Kolten Wong to cut the lead to
2-1. Wong then stole second and with two
outs Zack Swasey singled up the middle to score Wong and tie the score at two.
Hawaii used two walks and two singles to score three more in
the third to take a 5-2 lead and increased it to 7-2 with a Kitamura double in
the sixth.
O'Brien homered in the eighth and Hawaii scored five
unearned runs in the eighth to make the final score 12-3.
The Shockers are next in action on Tue., April 5 when they
host Alcorn State at 6:30 p.m.
