Box Score HONOLULU, Hawaii - Hawaii collected 13 hits in a 12-4 win
over Wichita State in game three of a four-game series.
Chris O'Brien went 2-for-3 with two doubles, while Ryan Hege
went 2-for-3 with a double.
Starter Brian Flynn took the loss. He went three innings and gave up four runs
on six hits with four walks and six strikeouts.
Chris O'Brien led off the second inning with a double and
moved to second on a groundout by Tyler Coughenour. After Ryan Hege was hit by a pitch, Don
Lambert walked to load the bases. After
a strikeout, Zach Stucky walked with the bases loaded to drive in a run and
then Tyler Grimes singled to left field to drive in Hege, but that is all the
Shockers would get as Lambert was thrown out at the plate.
The Shockers added on a run in the fourth with back-to-back
doubles from Hege and Lambert to give WSU a 3-0 lead.
The Rainbows answered with seven runs in the bottom of the
fourth. Hawaii used two doubles, three
singles, three walks and a balk to plate the seven runs and take a 7-4 lead. The Rainbows then added another four more in
the fifth and one in the sixth to increase the lead to 12-3.
The Shockers tacked on an unearned run in the ninth for the
final of 12-4.
The Shockers and Rainbows conclude their four-game series on
Sat., April 2 at 5:05 p.m. (CST).
