Box Score WICHITA -- Kash Kalkowski hit a two-run home run and Tyler Niederklein went six strong innings to pick up his fifth win of the season as Nebraska defeated the Wichita State University baseball team, 5-4, Tuesday night in Eck Stadium.
The loss drops the Shockers to 21-14 overall on the season. Nebraska improves to 22-13.
Wichita State will now travel to Manhattan, Kan., to play a single game against Kansas State. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., and will be broadcast on Kansas22.
Johnny Coy went 2-for-4 with his second home run of the season, driving in two. Kevin Hall was 2-for-5 with an RBI while Tyler Grimes was 2-for-5 with a run scored.
Patric Tolentino was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI for Nebraska.
Brian Flynn pitched 4.1 innings of relief, scattering four hits while allowing only one unearned run to score. Flynn struck out six while issuing only two free passes.
Casey Hauptman pitched the final 1.2 innings for Nebraska, allowing one run on two hits but closed out the win for the Cornhuskers to pick up his fourth save of the season.
