WICHITA, Kan. - The Wichita State Shockers (2-2, 1-0)
blanked the Creighton Bluejays (1-1, 0-1), 7-0 to earn their first Missouri
Valley Conference win.
The Shockers won all three doubles matches to earn the
point. Montse Blasco Fernandez and
Veronika Blaskova defeated Anaelese Snyder and Anna Kirshenbaum, 8-6 in the #1
position for the Shockers. #67
Luftiana Budiharto and Raphaela Zotter cruised to an 8-0 win over Sarah and
Lessa Cudwallader in the #2 position.
Carla Venticinque and Delia Damaschin defeated Mary McMullan and Lauren
Mustro, 8-3 in the #3 position.
In singles, #118 Budiharto defeated Kirshenbaum, 6-0, 6-0 in
the #1 position. Zotter defeated
Snyder, 6-0, 6-1 for the win in the #2 position. Damaschin knocked off Mustro, 6-0, 6-2 and Blaskova defeated
McMullen, 6-1, 6-1 in the #3 and #4 positions respectively. In the #5 and #6 positions, Venticinque
and Blasco Fernandez knocked off the Cudwaller's, 6-0, 6-3 and 6-0, 6-2.
