Tulsa, Okla.
- The No. 40 Tulsa Golden Hurricane (9-2) knocked off the No. 59 Wichita State
Shockers (6-6, 1-0), 4-3 in Tulsa
on Sunday night.
Playing their third match in two days the Shockers fought
hard against the Golden Hurricane but came up just short. Wichita
State dropped the doubles
point in the last doubles match but battled back with three wins in the singles
matches.
Juniors Lutfiana Budiharto and Delia Damaschin each won
their matches and freshman Raphaela Zotter won her match for the Shockers.
"I am very proud of our efforts this weekend," head coach
Colin Foster said. "While the team
results were not what we were hoping for the work ethic and level of
competition were outstanding."
"We will be a stronger team going forward and Kansas State
will be a great opportunity to get after it again," Foster said.
The Shockers will travel to Hutchinson to take on the No. 51 Kansas State
Wildcats on Sunday, March 6. The match
will be played at Prairie Dunes and will start at 1 p.m.
