Box Score TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Indiana State took game one of a
three-game Missouri Valley Conference series with Wichita State, 2-0.
The Shockers got a complete game from Jordan Cooper who allowed
two runs on nine hits with four strikeouts.
WSU had just three hits in the game, singles from Travis Bennett and
Ryan Jones and a double from Tyler Grimes.
The Sycamores got on the board in the fifth inning. Ryan Strausborger singled through the left side
with two outs, stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch. He came around to score on an infield single
by Kyle Burnam to put INS up 1-0.
INS tacked on another run in the sixth with a triple and a
sacrifice fly to increase the lead to 2-0.
The Shockers threatened in both the sixth and eighth innings
but left the bases loaded both times.
The Shockers are next in action on Sat., April 17 at Indiana
State. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. Central time.
