Game 1

Boise State - 4

Wichita State - 3

The Shockers were able to score twice in the bottom of the seventh but were unable to complete the comeback, falling to the Boise State University Broncos by a score of 4-3.

Heather Gerritse was 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI for Wichita State.  Kiersten Dixon and Sammie Shook each went 1-for-4 with a run scored.

Wichita State was able to score first on an RBI single from Heather Gerritse in the bottom of the third to take a 1-0 lead.  The WSU advantage was short lived as Boise State countered in the top half of the fourth as Kathy Cox tallied her fourth home run of the season, a two-run shot over the left-center field fence to put the Broncos up 2-1.  After Wichita State was able to get the first out of the inning, Bourke followed with her first home run on the year, a solo shot to increase the BSU lead to 3-1.

WSU loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the fourth but were unable to capitalize as Bronco starting pitcher Ashley Collier escaped the jam by getting the batter to fly out to end the inning.

Boise State used the long ball again to their advantage as Jessi Hanna was the third Bronco to tally a home run, another solo shot, as the Shockers were able to keep the damage to a minimum and find themselves down only 4-1.

Hanna finished going 1-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI for Boise State while Cox was 1-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI.

Jamie Hull had two hits and an RBI in four trips to the dish for WSU.
