WICHITA -- A career-high 22 points from junior guard Sheena Johnson propelled Wichita State to a 66-63 overtime win against Missouri Valley Conference foe Drake Friday at Charles Koch Arena.

The win ended Drake's 11-game winning streak against the Shockers and pushed Wichita State ahead of Drake in the conference standings. The two teams entered the game tied with Northern Iowa for fifth place.

Johnson also led all players with five steals. Shocker junior guard Morgan Boyd added 19 points in the win.

Wichita State improved to 13-8 and 5-5 in the conference in front of a crowd of 1,747 and evened the season series with Drake.

The Shockers' five conference wins are their most in the Valley since the 2005-06 season.

The Drake Bulldogs (11-9, 4-6) dropped their fourth game in a row. Sophomore forward Rachael Hackbarth led Drake with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Drake took a 5-4 lead about four minutes into the game, but Wichita State responded with a 12-0 run that forced Drake to take two timeouts during the six-minute stretch. Johnson and Boyd each had four points during the run.

The Bulldogs fought back to take the lead later in the half. Drake senior guard Jordann Plummer's jumper with three seconds left before halftime broke a 25-25 tie.

Boyd led all scorers with nine points in the first half and Johnson added eight points.

The two teams swapped the lead several times in the second half.

The Bulldogs built up their largest lead of the game, 45-37, midway through the second half. The Shockers responded with a 13-0 run that resulted in a 50-45 lead with 6:36 left in the game.

But the Bulldogs bounced back with an 8-0 run of their own to regain the lead once again.

A three-pointer from Boyd followed by a layup from Johnson took the Shocker lead back, 55-53, with about two minutes left in the game.

Drake's Hackbarth tied the score 57-57 with a jumper with 23 seconds left to force overtime.

Johnson reached her career-high point total on two free throws midway through overtime, which extended the Shockers to a 63-59 lead.

Wichita State improved to 10-2 at home this season.

The Shockers next play Creighton at 2:05 p.m. Sunday at Charles Koch Arena.
