The Shockers (21-6, 14-4) won by scores of 25-10, 25-19 and 25-16. With the win, the Shockers clinched the No. 2 seed in next week's Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. Emily Adney led the Shockers with nine kills while Mary Elizabeth Hooper had 28 assists and two service aces. Camri Zwiesler had eight kills, three aces and six digs for Wichita State. Megan Schmidt led the Braves with eight kills. A kill by Ashley Andrade gave the Shocks an early 5-1 lead in the first set and a BU hitting error increased the lead to 8-2. A kill by Elizabeth Field made the score 15-7 and led to a Brave timeout. Zwiesler had back-to-back service aces for a 19-7 lead and the Shocks closed out the set 25-10 with a kill by Andrade. A Zwiesler kill put the Shocks up 7-4 in the second set and an ace by Hooper gave the Shocks a 12-7 advantage. Back-to-back Shocker hitting errors cut the lead to 15-11, but the Shockers answered with two-straight points to go up 17-11. WSU won the set 25-19 on a Zwiesler kill. The teams went back-and-forth in the third set until a kill by Zwiesler put the Shocks up 9-6. An Andrade kill gave WSU a 16-10 advantage and the Shocks won the set 25-16. Andrade finished the match with eight kills. Field had seven kills and four assisted blocks. Sarah Waldorf had a team-high 24 digs for WSU. The Shockers are next in action in the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
