Box Score

WICHITA ? Wichita State (18-12) ran into a hot Oklahoma (26-7) offense on Wednesday night, dropping a 15-0 decision at Eck Stadium in front of 5,186 fans.

Shocker starter Brian Flynn came out hitting his spots, getting all three Sooner hitters to strike out looking in the bottom of the first, then keeping Oklahoma scoreless in the second and third innings, facing the minimum.

Flynn, however, ran into trouble in the fourth after issuing a leadoff walk. Two batters later, Aaron Baker doubled to knock in the first run of the game. The next hitter, J.T. Wise hit a two-run home for a 3-0 lead. The Sooners followed the third up with another three-spot in the fifth, courtesy of two extra-base hits and another leadoff walk issued by Flynn.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma starter Garrett Richards cruised through his four innings of work, allowing just one hit, to WSU's Chris O'Brien. Richards struck out seven before giving way to reliever Jeremy Erben. Erben was just as good as Richards pitching the next two innings hitless, while striking out three.

Shocker DH Clint McKeever ripped a single in the seventh with one out, but reliever Jeremy Robinson got the next two Shockers to stamp out any threat.
The Oklahoma pitching continued to keep the Shocker bats cool in the eighth and ninth, running their game strikeout total to 16 strikeouts.

The Shockers will be back in action this weekend against Evansville in a three-game MVC series at Eck Stadium. Friday's game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
