WICHITA -- The Wichita State Shockers extended their winning streak to seven games Saturday with an 80-68 win against TCU in front of a sell-out crowd of 10,506 at Charles Koch Arena.

The Shockers shot 50 percent from the field and improved to 9-1 on the season, defeating their ninth opponent by a double-digit points margin.

Shocker junior forward JT Durley led Wichita State with 19 points, which matched his career high. Leading scorer Toure' Murry, a sophomore guard, finished with 17 points.

TCU's Zvonko Buljan led all scorers with 29 points, including four 3-pointers, as the Mountain West Conference Horned Frogs fell to 5-5 on the season.

The Shockers jumped out to an 8-1 lead early, making their first three field goals and fueled by two 3-pointers from Murray, who went on to pace the Shockers with 13 points in the first half.

Wichita State led by two points with 16:10 left in the first period before going on an 18-4 run to build up a 28-12 lead with 6:25 left before halftime and extend to the Shockers' largest lead of the game.

Horned Frog Buljan posted TCU's first eight points of the game and went on to lead TCU with 13 points in the first half.

TCU was assessed three technical fouls in the first half, which led to five Shocker points.

The Shockers went on to lead 36-24 at halftime, shooting 42.3 percent in the half and holding TCU to 30.4 percent shooting in the first 20 minutes of action.

Wichita State built up a 14-point lead with back-to-back buckets -- a dunk from Durley and layup by Gabe Blair -- less than four minutes into the second half to ignite the crowd.

TCU answered with a 13-6 run in a span of 3:45 to reduce the Shocker lead to five points with 12:37 left in the game. A four-point play and another 3-pointer by the Horned Frogs' Greg Hill cut the Shockers' lead to two points with 10:37 left.

Wichita State responded with a 6-0 run in a short span to push out the team's lead back to eight points. A 3-pointer from David Kyles and a three-point play from Durley pushed the Shockers' lead back out to double digits with 3:30 left in the game.

Wichita State has now out-rebounded nine of its 10 opponents this season, grabbing 32 boards compared to TCU's 23.

Wichita State improved to 6-2 in the overall series with the Horned Frogs.

Saturday's contest opened a three-game home stretch for the Shockers who next play Texas Tech at 7 :05 p.m. Sat., Dec. 19 at Charles Koch Arena. The game will be televised on Kansas 22 with Bruce Haertl and Craig Steven calling the action.
