Box Score TERRE HAUTE, Ind. ? The Shockers improved to 3-1 in Missouri
Valley Conference action with a sweep of Indiana State. WSU (10-4, 3-1) won by scores of 30-16,
30-19 and 30-27.
Angela Jakubov led the Shockers with 11 kills, while hitting
.588 in the match. Abby Harsh had 31
assists, while Kelly Broussard added 14 digs.
The Shockers jumped out to a 10-4 lead in game one behind
the serving of Melissa Granville and increased it to 23-10 after an 8-0 run by
the Shockers. WSU closed out game one
30-16 on a kill by Jakubov.
Emily Stockman served the Shocks to a 4-0 lead in game two
and WSU pulled away to take a 30-19 victory.
WSU again started strong in game three by taking a 4-1 lead,
but the Sycamores would not go away as they came back to take a 17-15 lead on a
kill by Katie Dilling. Stockman served
the Shocks back in front at 19-17 and WSU held on to win game three 30-27.
The Shockers next play on Tue., Sept. 25 as they host
Chicago State at 7 p.m.
