Wichita State vs. Wyoming

Wichita State Head Coach Gregg Marshall:

“We certainly played much better than we practiced...It's just continuing to work. We made some shots tonight. Guys made some pretty nice passes to lead to baskets. I hope we continue to evolve in that direction.”

“I saw the P.J. (Couisnard) that everyone has been talking to me about. He was way up above the rim a couple of times for offensive rebounds and just seem to really have an ease to his game tonight.”

“We had five or six wide open threes in the first half that we didn't knock down and they knocked down a couple, in particular a contested one at the end of the half. They were knocking down tough shots. We weren't making the open shots. In the second half we did that and Matt (Braeuer) in particular knocked down a couple of big threes.”

Wyoming Head Coach Heath Schroyer:

“I though Wichita played really well. We had no answer for Couisnard. He's a very, very good basketball player. They really hurt us on the glass. Defensively they kind of turned it up on us. We fell out of sync offensively in the second half.”

Wichita State's Matt Braeuer:

“It helps when you hit open shots. I'm sure we shot a decent percentage because we hit a lot of shots open tonight. That will win you a lot of games, when you score 75 on their defense.”

Wichita State's P.J. Couisnard:

“Watching film, we knew they (Wyoming) draw a lot of fouls. So a main focus was keeping them off the line because a free throw is unguarded and they are pretty good shooters so they make a lot of them.”
