Box Score WICHITA, Kan. ? The Wichita State volleyball team fell in four games to Oral Roberts in front of 1,631 fans at Charles Koch Arena. The Golden Eagles
(22-7) won by scores of 30-27, 24-30, 30-24 and 30-23.
Sara Lungren led the Shockers (20-5) with her second 20/20 double-double of the season with 20 kills and 26 digs. Kelly Broussard added 25 digs, while Kayla
Stout, in the first start of her career, had 40 assists, eight kills, four service aces and seven digs.
Game one went back-and-forth early until the Shockers grabbed a 12-8 lead behind the serving of Stout. WSU increased the lead to 16-10 on a kill by Angela
Jakubov, but ORU went on a 15-7 run to take a 25-23 lead. WSU tied it back up at 25, but ORU scored five-straight points to power them to the 30-27 win.
WSU opened game two with four-straight points including two aces by Stout. WSU went up 12-7 and then 19-14 before ORU trimmed the lead to 21-18 after a
kill by Jackie Oliveira. The Shockers ended game two on a 9-6 run to take the game 30-24.
The Golden Eagles jumped out fast in game three taking a 7-3 lead. ORU never trailed in the game with the Shockers only getting as close as 22-24 down the
stretch. ORU won the game 30-24.
The teams raced out to a 14-14 tie in game four before six-straight points by the Golden Eagles doomed the Shockers. WSU never got closer than two the rest
of the way in ORU's 30-23 win.
The Shockers next play host to Southern Illinois on Nov. 3 and Evansville on Nov. 4. Both matches begin at 7 p.m. inside Charles Koch Arena.
