Morgan Lashley will begin her first season on staff for the Shocker softball program in 2020 as the pitching coach.
Lashley comes to Wichita State to lead the Shocker pitching staff after a stellar playing career in the circle for Hofstra and Army and most recently completing her master’s degree in sports business management at the University of Alabama where she was a graduate assistant for the Crimson Tide softball program.
Prior to joining the Alabama program, she was the head coach at Oyster Bay High School in Long Island, N.Y., for one season.
Her playing career began at the United States Military Academy (Army) where she was named the Patriot League Rookie and Pitcher of the Year as a freshman. As a sophomore, Lashley earned a spot on the NFCA All-Region Team and is the school’s career record holder in wins with 62, while also ranking second in innings pitched (621.2), winning percentage (.674) and strikeout (433).
Her freshman campaign saw her set single season records in wins (33), innings pitched (327), appearances (56) and strikeouts (237).
Lashley then transferred to Hofstra where she helped the Pride advance to an NCAA Regional in her final two seasons. She was a two-time NFCA Northeast All-Region selection and Colonial Athletic Association All-Conference honoree as a junior. In her final season, Lashley led the Pride to a 38-14-1 record and CAA Conference Championship.
A native of Davidson, N.C., Lashley attended North Mecklenburg High School.
