MJ Knighten begins her second season as a graduate assistant for the Shocker softball team.
Knighten joins the staff after a decorated playing career at Nebraska. She was a two-time First Team All-Big Ten and two-time First Team NFCA All-Midwest Region honoree. Knighten was the first four-time All-Big Ten selection in program history and started 228 of Nebraska's 229 games at third base in her career.
The 2016 NFCA First Team All-American was a 5th round selection (No. 25 overall) in the 2017 National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) Draft by the Scrap Yard Dawgs. She also became the first Senior CLASS Award finalist in the history of Nebraska softball.
Knighten will pursue a master's degree in sport management at Wichita State.
