Addison Barnard broke the program's all-time home run record in the first inning vs. Northern Colorado this past Friday. Her 59 career home runs broke a tie with Madison Perrigan, who set the record in 2021.

March 20, 2015 - Fred VanVleet scores a game-high 27 points and No. 7 seed WSU defeats No. 10 Indiana 81-76 in an NCAA Round of 64 game at Omaha's CenturyLink Center.
March 20, 2019 - Neleigh Herring singles in Madison Perrigan with the winning run in the ninth inning of an 11-10 win over Kansas at Wilkins Stadium. Asea Webber goes 4 for 4 with a home run for the Shockers and Bailee Nickerson drives in three runs.
March 21, 2013 - Malcolm Armstead scores 22 points and Tekele Cotton's defense shines in a 73-55 win over Pittsburgh in the NCAA Tournament in Salt Lake City. Cotton helps hold Pitt's Tray Woodall to 1-of-12 shooting.
March 21, 2014 - Wichita State improves to 35-0 after a 64-37 win over Cal Poly in the NCAA Tournament in St. Louis. Cleanthony Early scores 23 points and grabs seven rebounds.
March 22, 1990 - A 15-1 win over New Mexico gives coach Gene Stephenson his 700th victory. Jim Audley drives in four runs for the Shockers, who improve to 19-2.
March 22, 2015 - Wichita State defeats Kansas 78-65 in the NCAA Tournament in Omaha. Tekele Cotton scores 19 points for the Shockers, who hold the Jayhawks to 35.1-percent shooting. Evan Wessel records 12 points and nine rebounds, making 4 of 6 three-pointers.
March 23, 1954 - MVC coaches vote Wichita's Ralph Miller Coach of the Year after the Shockers go 27-4 and play in the NIT. Miller, 34, concludes his third season as coach.
March 23, 2013 - Ninth-seeded Wichita State knocks off top-seeded Gonzaga 76-70 in the third round of the NCAA Tournament in Salt Lake City. The Shockers make a season-high 14 three-pointers, including five straight in the final minutes. Ron Baker and Cleanthony Early both score 16 points for WSU.
March 23, 2014 - Kentucky's Andrew Harrison scores 20 points in a 78-76 win over top-seeded Wichita State in the NCAA Tournament in St. Louis. Cleanthony Early leads the Shockers (35-1) with 31 point and Ron Baker scores 20.
March 25, 1990 - Wichita State is No. 1 in the Collegiate Baseball top 25, up two spots from the previous week.
March 25, 1998 - Wichita State plays its first softball games at Wilkins Stadium and splits with Emporia State. The Shockers lose the opener 7-4 and win the second game 8-0 with Tricia Grimsley pitching
March 25, 2009 - Former Shockers Darren Dreifort and Joe Carter are announced as members of the 10-man class inducted into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame.
March 26, 2010 - Tonya Nero breaks the school record with a time of 33 minutes, 32.84 seconds in the 10,000 meters at the Stanford Invitational. Julie Duncan-Slade set the previous mark in 1983 at 35:16.91.
March 26, 2019 - The Shockers defeat Indiana 73-63 at Assembly Hall in the quarterfinals of the NIT. Markis McDuffie scores 21 points and Dexter Dennis adds 17 and six blocked shots for the Shockers.
