Wichita State volleyball associate head coach Sean Carter updates fans on spring practices. The Shockers will be in Koch Arena on April 9 along with Air Force, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Missouri State.
 
We discuss how the Shockers want to become the best defensive team in the American Athletic Conference, which means lots of time digging and diving on the floor this spring. Carter tells us that coaches see outside hitter Brylee Kelly, an all-conference pick in 2021, as a six-rotation player, which puts her in drills with the littles.
 
We also talk about team chemistry, pleasant surprises in the spring and how coaches want the Shockers to project more swagger in the fall.
 
Last season, the Shockers went 19-10, 13-7 in the conference. Kelly, setter Kayce Litzau and middle Natalie Foster earned spots on the all-conference teams.
