MGolf: Team Effort Leads Shocks Into 5th at UTSA

San Antonio, Texas -- Four Shockers sit in the top 18 after two rounds at the UTSA/Oak Hills Invitational.  It is the opening tournament of the spring for the WSU men's golf team.


Senior Rafael Becker led the team with a 3-over 145 to tie for 15th.  Tyler Gann, Chandler Rusk, and Hunter Sparks each carded 4-overs to tie for 18th place. 


The 15-team tournament features several ranked opponents, in addition to the Shockers, including Tulsa, Baylor, Oklahoma, and North Texas. 


North Texas leads the field behind individual leader Rodolfo Cazaulbon.

The tournament concludes with an 18-hole championship round beginning with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
