TULSA, Okla.-The doubles pairs of Alvaro Gutierrez/Matheus
Pereira and Tin Ostojic/Erick Reyes moved into the third-round of the
qualifying bracket at the ITA All-American Championships on Tuesday.
Gutierrez and Pereira received a bye in the first round and
went on to defeat Cedric DeZutter and Johnny Grimal of Memphis, 8-6, in the
second round. The duo, which won the doubles title at the Racquet Club
Collegiate Invitational two weeks ago, is undefeated so far this season with a
record of 6-0.
Ostojic and Reyes also had a bye in the first round, but did
not let it slow them down, as they took down Keaton Cullimore and Patrick Kawka
of BYU, 8-5, in the second round.
The two teams will take on a set of seeded and ranked
opponents in the third-round on Wednesday. Pereira and Ostojic will look to
keep their undefeated record against the top-seeded and No. 28 Russell Bader
and Roman Trkulja of Penn State, while Ostojic and Reyes will take on nine-seed
and No. 43 Dominique and Yannick Maden of Clemson.
The third Shocker doubles team, Tomislav Gregurovic and
Guillermo Nicol, fell to Michale Redlicki and Jason Tahir of Duke, 8-2, in the
first round.
Results after Wednesday's competition will be posted on
