Feb. 12, 1955 - Cleo Littleton scores 30 points in an 82-79 loss at Houston to become the first major-college player west of the Mississippi River to score 2,000 career points.
Feb. 12, 1981 - Antoine Carr scores 20 points in an 87-65 win over defending MVC champion Bradley. The 16th-ranked Shockers improve to 10-1 in the Valley for a two-game lead. The Levitt Arena scoreboard is inoperable during the game.
Feb. 13, 2012 - Wichita State moves into the Associated Press rankings at No. 24, its first appearance since 2006.
Feb. 14, 1976 - Cal Bruton makes two free throws with 19 seconds to play to put WSU in front for good in a 66-65 win over Southern Illinois at Levitt Arena.
Feb. 14, 2006 - Matt Braeuer's three-pointer at the buzzer gives the Shockers a 62-61 win over Creighton at Koch Arena. The win lifts the Shockers into first in the MVC standings.
Feb. 15, 2003 - Aaron Hogg's 27 points and 10 rebounds key an 80-74 upset of No. 12 Creighton at the Kansas Coliseum. The Shockers defeat ranked team for the first time in 13 seasons.
Feb. 15, 2015 - Alex Harden scores 26 points and records five steals in a 66-36 win over Bradley at Koch Arena. The Shockers improve to 20-4, 11-1 in the MVC. Jamillah Bonner adds 18 points.
Feb. 16, 1963 - The ninth-ranked Shockers upset No. 1 Cincinnati, 65-64, behind Dave Stallworth's 46 points. The victory snaps a 37-game winning streak for UC, which led by six points with 3:10 to play before Stallworth mounts his own personal 7-0 run to put the home team in front. Stallworth's final line: 14-of-22 from the field and 18-of-23 at the foul line.
Feb. 17, 1954 - WU is formally invited to compete in the NIT. It is the school's first modern postseason berth.
Feb. 18, 1956 - Wichita wins for the first time at Kiel Auditorium, defeating 17th-ranked Saint Louis 109-103 in double-overtime. The Shockers were previously 0-11 against the Billikens on their home floor. WU's Leo Carney scores four points in the final overtime period to wrap up what is regarded as one of the great wins in school history.
Feb. 18, 1982 - Shocker baseball opens a season that will end with 73 wins and as NCAA runner-up with a 7-1 loss at Arizona State.
Feb. 18, 2000 - Wichita State holds Indiana State to 12 first-half points on its way to a 77-50 win at Levitt Arena. Jennifer Kaczka scores 21 points and the Shockers improve to 17-7, 11-3 in the MVC.
Feb. 18, 2021 - Wichita State pulls its biggest home upset in over 50 years, taking down No. 6 Houston, 68-63. Tyson Etienne and Alterique Gilbert lead the scoring with 16 each, and Dexter Dennis delivers the game-saving steal with 15 seconds to go and the Shockers clinging to a one-point lead.
