NCAA Announces Graduation Success Rate
NCAA Announces Graduation Success Rate
Statistics for the Graduation Success Rate (GSR) released Tuesday by the NCAA indicated an 89% GSR for the Wichita State athletic department, which is one percentage point lower than the all-time high of 90% achieved one year ago. The GSR rates for the previous five years were 90% (2014-15), 87% (2013-14), 84% (2012-13 class), 82% (2011-12 class), and 80% (2010-11 class).

Shocks Advance to Hall of Fame Classic Championship

Wichita State will play for the Hall of Fame Classic title after taking down Grand Canyon, 55-43, Monday afternoon at the T-Mobile Center. The Shockers now face San Francisco (5-0) at 1 p.m. today. WSU is in search of its first regular season tournament crown since winning this event back in 2013.

Nov. 20-27

Nov. 20, 2013 - Michelle Price scores 25 points and Alex Harden adds 15 in Wichita State's 69-46 win at Kansas State. The Shockers force 18 turnovers, leading to 30 points, and hold the Wildcats to 34.6 percent shooting.

Nov. 21, 1986 - A Yugoslavian National team defeats the Shockers 77-65 in an exhibition at Levitt Arena. Sasha Radunovich leads Wichita State with 18 points and Henry Carr adds 16. The Yugoslavian team features future NBA players Toni Kukoc, Drazen Petrovic, Vlade Divac, Dino Radja and Stojan Vrankovic. Kukoc comes off the bench to score 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting.

Nov. 21, 2000 - Guard Terrell Benton makes 5 of 9 three-pointers on his way to 23 points in Wichita State's 76-66 win over Kansas State at Levitt Arena. Shockers coach Mark Turgeon makes his debut in front of 10,559 fans.

Nov. 21, 2021 - Guard Tyson Etienne scores 28 points, including the deciding foul shots with 3.4 seconds to play, in a 74-73 win over UNLV in Las Vegas. Etienne makes five threes in the second half to help the Shockers overcome an 11-point deficit.

Nov. 22, 1971 - Wichita State finishes 14th in the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Knoxville, Tenn. Alan Walker leads the Shockers by finishing 52nd in the with a time of 30 minutes, 53 seconds in the six-mile race won by Oregon's Steve Prefontaine (29:14).

Nov. 22, 1982 - George Collier finishes 27th in the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Bloomington, Ind., with a time of 30:55.6.

Nov. 24, 2010 - The Shockers defeat Virginia 70-58 in the Maui Invitational after trailing 20-4. Wichita State rallies to lead 35-31 at halftime. J.T. Durley leads the Shockers with 17 points, including 4-of-4 shooting from three-point range.

Nov. 26, 1974 - Randy Smith finishes 10th in the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Bloomington, Ind., best finish by a Shocker. He runs the six-mile course in a time of 30:11.01 to help Wichita State finish 17th.

Nov. 26, 2013 - Ron Baker makes all 11 of his foul shots in a 75-62 win over BYU in Kansas City. Baker finishes with 23 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals.
