The Kansas City Royals will be hosting Wichita State Night at the K on Friday, July 20 at Kauffman Stadium. The Royals will be playing the Minnesota Twins at 7:15 p.m. that night and fans who purchase theme tickets will get a special Wichita State Shockers/Kansas City Royals hat. The hats will be distributed at Gate A and must be picked up before the second inning.
 
Members of the Wichita State Spirit Squad and WuShock will be at the game to help hand out hats and pose for pictures.
 
Throwing out this year's ceremonial first pitch is College Baseball Hall of Fame coach Gene Stephenson. He coached the Shockers from 1978-2013 and led the Shockers to seven College World Series appearances and the 1989 National Championship.
