WICHITA, Kan. – Three Wichita State student-athletes have been awarded All-American Scholar honors.

A total of 1,011 student-athletes were named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars list for the 2017-18 season, including Shockers
Michelle Ledermann,
Gavrilla Arya and
Taryn Torgerson. Student-athletes were required to maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.

Ledermann, a sophomore from Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, competed in nine tournaments finishing with a 77.15 stroke average. She recorded four top-20 finishes, including a season best 14th at the Mountain View Intercollegiate with a 221 three-round score. Recently she was named to the Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 AD Honor Roll, as well as earning Academic All-Conference honors.

Arya competed in six tournaments, averaging a 77.93 stroke average for the 2017-18 season. The Jakarta, Indonesia, native recorded one top-10 and two top-20 finishes on the season, recording a season best 10th place tie at the season opening Lady Maxwell Cup. Arya earned Academic All-Conference honors as well as being named to the Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 AD Honor Roll.

Torgerson played in all 12 events, six in the fall and six in the spring. She finished the season winning the 2018 American Athletic Conference Championship, carding a tournament and course record 8-under par 64 in the final round. The Buhler, Kan., native recorded seven top-10 and eight top-20 finishes on the 2017-18 season. She finished her career with the lowest career stroke average, single season stroke average and 54-hole stroke average in Shocker history. Recently, Torgerson earned Academic All-Conference honors and was named to the Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 AD Honor Roll.
