Rayvon Allen finished seventh in the qualifying round of the IAAF World U20 Championships early Tuesday morning.

Rayvon Allen advanced to the long jump finals of the IAAF World U20 Championships on Wednesday, July 11 at 9:55 a.m. CT.

The all-conference athlete recorded a mark of 7.36m/24-1.75 on his first attempt He followed with his qualifying mark of 7.58m/24-10.5 on his second leap, before fouling on his final attempt. The St. Louis, Mo., native finished fifth in the second flight and seventh overall, advancing him to the finals on Wednesday, July 11.

USA teammate JuVaughn Blake of LSU advanced to the finals with a mark of 7.49m/24-7. Yuki Hashioka of Japan won the qualifying round with a jump of 7.92m/26-0.

Taran Taylor will throw the javelin on Friday, July 13 at 1:30 a.m. CT. He enters the event with the fifth best mark of the 2018 season with a throw of 74.26m/243-8.
