Shocker Men Remain No. 21 in USTFCCCA Polls

WICHITA, Kan. –
For the second consecutive week the Wichita State men's track and field team is No. 21 in the USTFCCCA polls.
 
After entering the USFTFCCCA top-25 in week seven at No. 21 the Shockers maintained their position in week eight, the highest ranking in the program's history.
 
Led by four athletes ranked in the top-10 in their respected event, the Shockers jumped 20 spots last week to enter the polls for the first time in the 2018 season. Four-time All-American Hunter Veith leads the group with the highest individual ranking at No. 2 in the decathlon, followed by Aaron True at No. 5  (javelin), freshman Taran Taylor No. 7 (javelin) and Austin Corley No. 9 in the 400m hurdles.
 
The Shockers are one of 17 NCAA Division I programs with four or more athletes ranked in the top-10 in their respected events.
 
For the eighth consecutive week, the Florida Gators sit atop the standings at No. 1. American Athletic Conference rival Houston dropped one spot to No. 8.

The Shockers travel to Sacramento, Calif., for the NCAA West Preliminary Round on May, 24-26. 14 student-athletes qualified, including 10 men and four women.
