WICHITA, Kan. - The Wichita State women's golf team enters a new era this weekend when they take part in its first American Athletic Conference Championship held April 15-17 at the Conservatory Course at the Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Fla.

The Shockers send a five-woman lineup including Michelle Ledermann, Laine Evans, Taryn Torgerson, Annika Chickering and Abbi Shaddix to compete in the three day, three round, championship with play scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. CT. The threat of thunderstorms could also play a part over the opening two rounds with tee times schedule to change.

The American Digital Network will cover the final round live beginning at 11 a.m. CT on Tuesday April 17 on Facebook. 

Houston, ranked no. 23 in the latest GolfStat.com rankings holds the No. 1 seed for the event with ECU ranked second and last season's champions SMU ranked third. The Shockers sit in the seven spot with Torgerson's two medalist spots this season leading The American.
