TULSA, Okla
. - The Wichita State men's team completed the first day of pre-qualifying in singles play Saturday in Tulsa at the ITA All-American Championships. The Shockers came away with three singles victories on the day.

Andrea Caligiana earned two victories on the day to advance to the round of 64 on Sunday. The junior from Perugia, Italy, defeated Maksymilian Raupuk of Purdue in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, before taking down former Missouri Valley Conference opponent Andreas Boers of Illinois State, 6-3, 6-4. Caligiana will face Christian Edison of Austin Peay tomorrow at 8 a.m. for a spot in the round of 32

Junior Eddie Stoica had a bye in the first round of pre-qualifying for the Shockers. He later went on to defeat South Carolina junior, Yancy Dennis. He will join Caligiana in the round of 64 tomorrow for the Shockers and will face Lucas Taylor of Northern Arizona at 9:30 a.m.

Miroslav Herzan was among the first to play Saturday morning and was defeated by Roy Smith of Baylor, 6-1, 6-0. Herzan will continue action tomorrow in the consolation round of pre-qualifying singles against Stepan Gonzalez of UAB at 8 a.m.
