HUNTINGTON, W.V. - Gage Ihrig leads Wichita State through two rounds of the Joe Feaganes Invite in Huntington after carding a career low-18 in the opening round of play. As a team the Shockers are tied for seventh overall.

Ihrig, a senior from Goodland, Kan., sits in second position individually after carding 9-under par through the first 36 holes to end the day with 133 and only two strokes behind the leader. A career low round score of 66 in the front 18 followed by 67 in the back 18 sees Ihrig as the only Shocker in the top 20. 

Conrad Walcher finished the day tied for 39th after carding 2-over par 73's in each round of play. Walcher ends the day at 146 overall and 4-over par. 

Yannik Emmert is a further stroke behind Walcher with 147. After opening the tournament with a 7-over 78, the junior from Germany carded a 2-under 69 in round two to end the day tied for 48th.

Erik Angesten ended the opening two rounds with 149 and tied for 58th after carding 74 and 75 through the 36 holes.

Junior transfer Kale Reynolds sits in 78th position behind opening round scores of 78 and 75. Reynolds sits 11-over par with 153. 

Competing individually in his first tournament as a Shocker, Palmer Hays is tied for 66th, 8-over par after carding 76 and 74 on the opening day.

As a team the Shockers are tied seventh overall behind scores of 291 and 284, good for 575 and 7-over par. Dayton leads the field after carding 562 while host school Marshall is second with 563. Eastern Kentucky rounds out the top three with 565. 

Day two will conclude the two-day event tomorrow with play beginning at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. Live scoring will be available at birdiefire.com.
