Jenista Named MVP of the Cape Cod League

COTUIT, Mass. – Wichita State baseball student-athlete Greyson Jenista has been named the Most Valuable Player of the Cape Cod League. Jenista plays for the Cotuit Kettleers.
 
He is just the second Shocker to win the award joining Conor Gillaspie, who won it in 2007. He is the first Cotuit player to win it since Justin Smoak in 2006.
 
Jenista, a junior outfielder from Eudora, Kan., is hitting .304 this summer. He is 41-for-135 with 24 runs, four doubles, three home runs, 16 RBI, 18 walks and nine stolen bases in 37 games.
 
He has helped Cotuit clinch a spot in the Western Division Playoffs of the Cape Cod League.
 
Last season for the Shockers, Jenista hit .320 with 45 runs, 73 hits, 14 doubles, one triple, nine home runs, 41 RBI and six stolen bases.
