WICHITA, Kan.  --  Jamesia Milton has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week, it was announced today by the conference office.

Milton set the school record in the hammer throw at the Texas Tech Red Raider Shootout Friday at Terry and Linda Fuller Track & Field Stadium.

Milton's hammer throw (202-4/61.68m) broke the 19-year-old hammer throw record of 201-0/61.28m set by Katie Panek in 1998.

Her throw is the 15th-best in the NCAA West and 27th-best in the NCAA so far this season.
