WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State baseball student-athlete
Cody Tyler will miss the rest of the 2017 season due to a ligament sprain in his left elbow.

Tyler, a junior left-handed pitcher from Terrell, Texas, made 11 starts this season and went 4-5 with a 6.24 ERA. He pitched 49 innings with 17 walks and 39 strikeouts.

"We found out on Tuesday afternoon that
Cody Tyler will miss the remainder of the season," Head Coach Todd Butler said. "This will be a tough loss for our team, but someone will have to step up to fill his weekend starting role.
Cody Tyler has been a great competitor on the mound for the Shockers and we look forward to his rehab and returning for the 2018 season."
