NORMAL, Ill. - Wichita State men's tennis student-athletes
Haru Inoue and
Marius Frosa have been named to the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Tennis All-Conference Team, the conference announced today.
Inoue led the Shockers with a 23-11 overall record, and was 11-6 in duals (all in the top flight). An All-MVC selection in 2016, Inoue was listed as high as No. 71 in the Oracle/ITA singles ranks this season. He earned the biggest win of his career on Feb. 24, when he defeated then-No. 11 Christian Sigsgaard from Texas, 6-2, 7-5. Inoue was also named MVC Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 27, 2017.
Frosa joined the team in January and worked his way up the flights, finishing the year with a .500 record or better in the No. 1-5 flights. Frosa went 16-6 on the season, and teamed with
Murkel Dellien to lead the team in doubles wins with an 11-4 record.
Drake earned the most selections with six All-Conference choices, the Player of the Year in Vinny Gillespie, and Coach of the Year Davidson Kozlowski.
