DES MOINES, Iowa  --  Wichita State track and field sophomore Rebekah Topham ran a 16:17.69 in the 5K to place eighth at the Drake Relays Thursday night.

The 5K personal best time, which she improved from 16:53.24 earlier this year to 16:17.69 tonight, is the fourth-best in Shocker history behind All-Americans Aliphine Tuliamuk-Bolton (15:18.86/2013), Desiraye Osburn (15:53.51/2006) and Kellyn Johnson (16:02.25/2007).

Topham was the only Shocker to compete at the Drake Relays, and will travel now to compete in the 800 meters Friday night with the team at the Texas Tech Red Raider Shootout.
