LEMONT, Ill. -
The Wichita State men's golf team travel to Cog Hill Golf & Country Club Monday-Tuesday, April 24-25, for their final Missouri Valley Conference Championship appearance as they seek to claim their 21st conference title overall and 15th in the last 19 seasons.

Tabbed as the pre-tournament favorites, the Shockers enter the championship as The Valley's top rated program according to the GolfStat team rankings behind an impressive sophomore year from Yannik Emmert who ranks second in the MVC in head-to-head rankings. Emmert leads the Shockers with a 71.21 stroke average after notching one tournament victory, four top-10 and six top-20 finishes this season. He also carded the MVC's lowest 18-hole round of the season, recording 63 at the Pro Compression Invite in February.

Last season's MVC Golfer of the Year Grant Bennett ranks sixth in The Valley in GolfStat's head-to-head rankings behind a 72.73 stroke average while Jacob Bishop ranks 10th, Conrad Walcher is 16th and Gage Ihrig is 20th.

Held at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club on the par-72, 7,155 yard, Course #4, The Valley teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday on the 'DUBSPREAD' course which has played host to numerous PGA Tour and USGA tournament events. Play will begin at 8:00 a.m. central time on Monday with the Shockers teeing off from holes 1 through 5.

The Shockers have been the Valley's most dominant program for nearly two decades, finishing first or second (with 14 titles) in each of the last 20 seasons and have won the league championship 14 of the last 18 seasons including eight-straight entering last season when they were just edged out by Southern Illinois.
