Yetter in Second after Rain Delayed Friday

New Schedule  |  Live Results  |  SEC+ Video (Saturday Only)

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.  --  Gavyn Yetter was in second place in the women's Heptathlon after the first rain-delayed day of the Arkansas Spring Invitational this Friday and Saturday.

Yetter had 3,010 points to the leader, Arkansas sophomore Ashlee Moore's 3,207 points. Yetter ran a 14.50 in the 100 hurdles, high jumped 4-10.25/1.48m, shot put 38-01.25/11.61m, and ran the 200 meters in 25.22.

Competition resumes Saturday morning with a revised schedule as the women's discus was moved to Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. Severe weather in the area caused delays and the move.

Wichita State's track and field team has a full squad — 32 men and 42 women athletes —competing in the event.

Men's and women's teams competing this weekend include: Arkansas, Arkansas Baptist, Barton County, Central Missouri, Drake, Friends University, Iowa Central, Missouri State, Oklahoma State, South Dakota, Tulsa and Wichita State. Arkansas is ranked No. 3 on both the men's and women's side.

The meet began Friday with the multi-events at noon. On Saturday the women complete the Heptathlon with the long jump at 11 a.m., followed by the javelin and 800 meters, while the men complete the Decathlon beginning at 10 a.m., with the 110 meter hurdles, followed by the discus, pole vault, javelin and the 1,500 meters set for 3:30 p.m.

Tyra Bickham will compete in the discus Saturday morning after throwing the fifth-best distance in school history last week at Emporia State (157-4/47.97m).

Saturday's running events begin at 3 p.m. The revised schedule and live results from Friday are linked above.
