WICHITA, Kan.  --  Eight Wichita State throwers will compete in the first event of the outdoor season on Witten Track inside Welch Stadium at Emporia State on Friday.

For the women's team, Alex Adams will compete in the discus and hammer, while Meagan Williams will compete in the hammer and javelin.

2015 MVC javelin champion Andrea Navarro will compete in the javelin at ESU, while Krisha Parmar will join her on the runway. Kelsey Slawson and Tyra Bickham will also compete in the discus for the women's team.

Aaron True, who finished second in the javelin at the 2015 MVC Championship, and John Hoplin, will throw the javelin Friday for the men.
