NICEVILLE, Fla. - Wichita State men's tennis student-athlete
Haru Inoue completed play in the second round of the Niceville Futures main draw at the Bluewater Bay Tennis Club Thursday.

Inoue cruised his way to the main draw at the Niceville Futures event, collecting four wins on his way to his second round matchup against No. 1 seed Sekou Bangoura (USA).

Inoue stuck with Bangoura in the first set, rallying to within one point (4-3), before Bangoura won the final two points to win the set, 6-3. It was close early in the second set, but Bangoura, who ranks No. 447 in ATP, came away victorious.

Inoue had a successful week at the event, going 4-1, including a victory over No. 55 ranked Peter Bertran. Bertran competes for American opponent USF. Inoue played in three futures events in the fall, with nine wins to go with just three losses. Two of his three losses were in the main draw, after battling his way through the qualifying draw. Overall, Inoue went 10-4 in the fall, with his only other tournament being the ITA All-Americans, where he went 1-1. The junior ranks No. 58 in ITA, and gained experience competing in futures events throughout the fall.

The Niceville Futures was the last fall tournament for the Shockers. They will begin play in the spring on Jan. 24-25 when they travel to Ithaca, N.Y. to take on Buffalo and Cornell at the Reis Tennis Center.
