WICHITA, Kan. -Â
Abbi Shaddix, a junior golfer at Wichita State, will tee off this week in the Garden City Charity Classic held at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Garden City, Kan.
Shaddix, a three-time Kansas Class 6A Regional Champion, received a sponsor exemption into the tournament that is part of the Symetra Tour, Road to the LPGA, and will help determine who earns LPGA Tour cards for the 2017 season.
Â
Shaddix has played in the event before but missed the low 60 cut, back in 2014.
Â
"I am really excited to have this opportunity again as I have grown a lot as a player and a person over the two years since I played," said Shaddix. "It's also great to be home at my home course with friends and family around. I can't thank the head professional Cole Wasinger and the committee enough for this great experience."
Â
Shaddix, who was the state runner-up in 2013, attended Garden City High School before beginning her collegiate career at the University of North Texas. She then played in two tournaments at Wichita State after transferring last spring.

All four rounds will begin at 7:45 a.m. The Tour will use a split-tee start on Thursday and Friday and then a single-tee start on Saturday and Sunday. There will be a cut to the low 60 and ties after second-round play on Friday.Â
