WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State fans will get an early peek at the 2016-17 men's and women's basketball teams, Thursday, Oct. 20 at Shocker Madness.

This free events begins at 6:30 p.m. at Charles Koch Arena, Home of Devlin Court. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

In addition to slam-dunk contest and intrasquad scrimmages, reigning champions
Conner Frankamp and Rangie Bessard return to defend their titles in three-point shootout, and the men's team will receive championship rings in honor of their 2015-16 Missouri Valley Conference title.

The three-time defending Valley champion Shocker men return nine lettermen from last year's 26-win team that defeated Vanderbilt and Arizona in NCAA Tournament play to advance to the Round of 32.

The WSU women are just a season removed from a three-peat of their own and will look to return to the top of the Valley standings behind an experienced group. All 11 letterwinners are back from the 2015-16 squad, including Bessard -- the 2016 MVC Newcomer of the Year.
