Men's Golf Heads West to Mark Simpson Invite

WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita State men's golf team heads back West for the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational Sept. 26-27 as they look to continue a strong start to their 2016-17 season.
 
Following a third place finish at the Ram Masters Invitational, the Shockers head to the University of Colorado's 7th annual Mark Simpson Colorado Invite in which they finished 4th last season. Grant Bennett led the Shockers with a tied 16th finish.
 
The tournament will take place at the Colorado National Golf Club in Erie, Colo., which is located around 12 miles east of Boulder.
 
The par-72, 7,745-yard course will host 54 holes in total. 36 continuous holes will be played on Monday Sept. 26 and 18 holes in a staggered shotgun start on Tuesday Sept. 27.
 
The 17 strong field will be led by the University of Colorado and will feature schools from around the States such as Gonzaga, Santa Clara, Seattle, Southern Utah, Air Force, Boise State, Texas-Arlington and Weber State among others.
 
Play will begin at 8:15 a.m. MT on the 26th with staggered start times on the 27th depending on the leaderboard heading into the third and final round. The top four teams will play in five tee times from hole no.1 at 7:55 a.m. with the rest of the field following from 8:15 a.m.
