WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State men's tennis head coach Danny Bryan announced that Murkel Dellien Velasco has signed and will join the team in January 2017.
 
Velasco has reached the finals of two futures events in doubles play, and was a semifinalist in another. The 18-year old from Santa Cruz, Bolivia also has claimed a win over the ATP-ranked #587 player in the world, as well as a win over the #20 player in the world junior rankings. Velasco has been ranked as high as #1,313 in ATP Singles rankings, and #1,129 in ATP Doubles rankings.

Velasco will be the eighth member of the team upon his arrival. The men's tennis team will start the fall season this week on this Friday, Sept. 16 at the Midland Fall Invitational in Midland, Texas.
