On Saturday, Odle advanced with a throw of 234-4/71.44m, which was good enough for 10th place and a berth in today's competition.

On Sunday, former Wichita State All-American and Wichita native Austin Bahner placed eighth in the Decathlon with 7,776 points after two days of competition.

Bahner moved up four spots overall during Sunday's competition, placing highest in the discus and pole vault with third-place in each. He threw the discus 45.49m/149-3 and vaulted 4.85m/15-11. He opened the day with a 15.52 in the 100m hurdles before the discus and pole vault.

To open the day's events, he ran 10.84 in the 100 meters, and jumped 7.38m/24-2.5 in the long jump. Following his career-best in the shot, he high-jumped 1.88m/6-2 and ran the 400 meters in 49.87.

In the women's 10,000 meters on Saturday, two former All-American Shockers, Kellyn Taylor and Aliphine Tuliamuk-Bolton finished fourth and eighth, respectively, Saturday afternoon. Tuliamuk and Taylor ran with the top five through most of the race to finish with times of 32:11.30 and 32:32.32, repectively.

Odle's javelin throw of 73.36m/240-8 at the Shocker Open on May 6 was good enough to qualify him as one of the top 24 at the trials.

Bahner, a Wichita native and volunteer coach on the Shocker Track and Field staff, was competing against a field of 18 in the Decathlon for the Shocker Track Club, entered the event with the 15th-best point total in the field with 7,765 points.

Taylor, who heading into the competition had the fourth-fastest 10,000 meter time at 31:40.70, earned All-American honors at WSU with a third-place finish in the mile at the 2009 NCAA Indoor Championship. In previous Olympic Trials action, she was 10th in the 10,000 meters and 14th in the 5,000 meters in 2012. Taylor, who hails from Sussex, Wis., runs for Northern Arizona Elite/HOKAONEONE.
