AUSTIN, Texas -- A weather-delay pushed the competitors to later start times as four Shockers placed in the Top 12 of their sections Friday at the 2016 Nike Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas as of 10:30 p.m.
Skylar Arneson finished fifth in section B of the Shot Put with a throw of 53-3.75 (16.25m), while teammate
Zach Loesch was 10th with a throw of 51-3.75 (15.64m).
In section A of the javelin,
Dylan Reimer finished ninth with a throw of 218-3 (66.52m), while freshman
Jared Belardo was 12th in the triple jump with a distance of 48-3.25 (14.71m).
Belardo also debuted in the 100 meters for WSU with a time of 10.89, just .35 out of the No. 10 all-time WSU time of Jesse Grove and Tyler Simmons (10.54).
The Shocker 4x100 meter relay team of
Angie Vailas,
Deja Young,
Raianna Maples and
Taylor Larch-Miller ran a time of 46.50 to finish 18th out of 42 teams.
Young also ran a preliminary time of 12.04 in the 100 meters to finish 23rd, while Vailas ran 12.29 to finish 39th.
On Saturday afternoon,
Jared Belardo is scheduled to compete in the long jump,
Sadie Suenram in the discus, and the Shocker women are scheduled to complete WSU's Texas Relays with the 4x200 meter relay.
