WICHITA, Kan. -- Wichita State's busy week of track and field continues with four distance runners competing in California on Friday, including
Sidney Hirsch,
Rebekah Topham and
Ugis Jocis at the 41st Stanford Invitational, and
Paul Raymond at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival.
The Shockers also have 19 student-athletes at the
Texas Relays this week, while the bulk of the team will compete at the Emporia State Relays on Saturday, as well.
Tomorrow morning opens for the Shockers with senior
Paul Raymond running the 10,000 meters at 11:50 a.m., Central time, at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival.
The day continues at Stanford for Wichita State with freshman
Rebekah Topham in the 1,500 meters at approximately 2:47 p.m. Central.
Sidney Hirsch will run the 3,000 Steeplechase at 7:21 p.m. Central, with
Ugis Jocis running the 1,500 meters at 8:45 p.m., Central.
At Stanford, more than 2,500 athletes -- open competitors, entrants from 110 colleges and universities, plus high schools -- will converge on Cobb Track and Angell Field on Friday and Saturday for the 41st Stanford Track and Field Invitational. On Friday, the first event begins at 9 a.m. and the final event ends at aboout 11:30 p.m. On Saturday, it's 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
