WICHITA, Kan. -- Wichita State Track and Field has teamed up with Shocker Track Club (STC) to assist in facilitating one of the state's largest track meets, and you could also be part of it all. If you are a teacher in education, sports or work with children or athletes, then you and your students want this on your resume.
Volunteers are needed for the KT Woodman Track Meet, Wednesday through Saturday, April 13-16. We are looking for people to work a block of time, a few hours or a particular event. Volunteers will receive a T-shirt, food and gain first-hand experience helping to run a track meet.
This is a great networking environment, especially if your students are interested in coaching, training or officiating.
We are also looking for motivated students to join the CREW, a student volunteer-based group specifically used to assist with WSU/STC track meets. This is a great resume builder as students will be able to hold an active position on a committee, have their voice heard and be able to have hands-on experience in track meet management, volunteers, officials, hospitality, event teams and much more.
If you as an instructor would like to use this as a project for your class or even co-op hours, we would be more than happy to work with you.
If you are interested in any of the above, contact Laura Markuly at
